Four month old Faizan Khan was kidnapped while he was sleeping next to his mother on the footpath in Nampally, Hyderabad. The police sprung into action and nabbed the abductors who were trying to sell the baby within 15 hours. When 21 year old Humera Begum woke up perturbed at 4 am , she went into a panic after realising  Faizan was missing from her side, from the footpath they slept on in front of Himmathram Jewellers near Dargah Yousafain in Nampally, Hyderabad. She rushed to the Nampally police station to lodge a complaint. Using quick presence of mind, the cops decided to watch and analyse the CCTV footage near the location.

Speaking to the Times of India, Nampally inspector R Sanjay Kumar said, ‘The two kidnapping the boy were captured by CCTV cameras.’ It only took a matter of 16 hours for the cops to crack down the kidnappers and return the fourmonthold boy to his mother. The police investigation revealed that autodriver Md Mustaq, 42, and his friend, cook Md Yousuf, 25, residents of Habeebnagar, kidnapped Faizan Khan at 2 am on Wednesday while he slept peacefully next to his mother. They planned to sell the kid to Md Ghouse of Rehmatnagar, who wanted to adopt a child. But when they arrived at Ghouse’s house with the kidnapped child. Ghouse refused to take the child in, noticing no parent was accompanying him.

The police with the help of locals, identified Mustaq and Yusuf from the CCTV footage and cracked down Mustaq’s house at Dargah Shah Khamoosh near Aghapura. The cops arrested the kidnappers at 6 pm rescuing Faizan from the house and handed him over to Humera. We salute the Nampally police for their quick action. Their determination to help the ailing mother get back her son proves our cops tsrive to put people first!
